RedBrick at the RPC 2009 (Apr 3-5) Posted by Dammi on February 26, 2009
RedBrick will be attending the Role Play Convention 2009.
The RPC is a germany's largest dedicated role-playing convention and
takes place from April 3rd to 5th 2009, at Messe Köln in Germany. If
you are attending, make sure to visit our booth in the Pen&Paper
Area, where you can meet our staff and chat about our books, projects,
and games!
Because it is probably the last time we will have
our own booth at a convention like this, you'll be able to purchase the products we have available there at special prices--considerably less than you would pay
at Lulu right now. It's likely the last chance to grab these from us
directly!
See you in April!
Cooperation with Prometheus Games Posted by Dammi on January 12, 2009
In cooperation with our RedBrick Germany branch, Prometheus Games
is going to publish and distribute our german titles. This cooperation
will replace the existing distribution channel via Lulu.com and make
those titles available in german game stores. The first releases will
be Western City and Spielleiten. Both titles will be available at the Role Play Convention 2009 in Cologne.
Western City
by Jörg Dünne is a gamemasterless roleplaying game in which the players
create a western and fill it with life. The development of the story is
guided by mechanisms distributing each player's influence evenly. Western City will be part of the Pocket-RPG-Line, which already produced Ratten! and the Ratten!!-Compendium.
Spielleiten
by Dominic Wäsch is a universal handbook for gamemasters. The book
contains countless tips and guidelines to optimize your game sessions
and how to improvise, suitable for both beginners and veterans. Spielleiten shows how even simple methods can be used to gamemaster effectively.
Prometheus Games GbR
is located in Duisburg, Germany. They released the first Edition of the
Steam-Fantasy Roleplaying Game Elyrion in 2007, and were able to expand
their portfolio with several famous products, such as licenses for the
Scion™, Savage Worlds™ and Ratten! game lines. The company website is http://www.prometheusgames.de.
RedBrick Germany is the german branch of RedBrick Limited
from Auckland, New Zealand. RedBrick publishes the famous Earthdawn®,
Fading Suns™, and Blue Planet™ game lines under license from FASA
Corporation, Holistic Design, and Biohazard Games. The company website
is http://www.redbrick.co.nz.
Kratas: City of Thieves Available Now! Posted by Dammi on December 13, 2008
Located in the center of Barsaive,
the city of Kratas serves as a crossroads of information and stolen
goods. Despite its location near almost all major trade routes, few
honest merchants pass through the city, for Kratas is ruled and run by
thieves. Its people are the clever and desperate, the illegally wealthy
and the horribly destitute of our province. Kratas: City of Thieves
offers gamemasters and players an in-depth look at Barsaive’s most
disreputable city. This book provides detailed descriptions of Kratas,
its gangs, and the characters who call this city home, along with new
and original content for adventures in the world of Earthdawn.Available now! Click here for more information!
Shipping Costs Disaster Posted by Dammi on October 30, 2008
Lulu,
our printer and distributor, has changed International shipping prices
without warning. That would normally not have been a problem, but the
pricing increase is so extreme (EUR 70 per book just for shipping!)
that we first thought it was a bug. Sadly, it isn't, although we don't
understand this new pricing policy--especially since it is coupled with
a general increase in production prices.
At the moment, only
hardcover books shipped to destinations outside the US are affected, as
they are the only books manufactured in the US (softcovers are printed
in other international facilities, and thus shipping remains
inexpensive). Of course, a large number of our customers are from
Europe and want hardcovers, which is what makes the situation so bad.
We
are terribly sorry about the inconvenience to our International
customers! This is something out of our control. RedBrick isn't the
only publisher affected and Lulu is currently receiving a lot of
negative response to this situation. We hope they come up with a
solution very soon. As a result, we are urgently looking at
alternative methods of getting our books printed and distributed.
Update: It seems Lulu has reacted to all this and is sorting out prices. Shipping should be set back to sane levels very soon. Click here for more information.
Dead End - A Fading Suns Shard Posted by Dammi on October 17, 2008
Fading Suns
is a science fiction game of heavy combat, vicious politics, weird
occultism, alien secrets and artifacts, and unknown and un-mapped
worlds. The Shards series is a collection of adventures and encounters, intended as an inexpensive resource for Fading Suns gamemasters.
Written by Thomas Baroli, Dead End was designed for a group of 3 to 5 player characters. In this adventure the characters travel to Kish to attend a religious ceremony, but are soon drawn into an obscure plot of murder and intrigue. As the characters follow the track of an unknown assailant who tried to assassinate Baron Sun Cho Li Halan’s young wife, they are about to discover a disturbing secret far greater than just the identity of a mere criminal....
